We are The Natterjacks, an indie folk trio hailing from the historic market town of Chesterfield in Derbyshire. Armed with a banjo, kick drum, harmonious melodies and ambient guitars to create an energetic live atmosphere with sing-along choruses and foot stomping, banjo filled breakdowns. The trio consists of Freddie Bingham, Mark Evans and Nick Evans.
We began playing together in the winter of 2010 as a duo, Freddie and Mark, after being friends at school for a number of years and as time progressed, so did our music, leading to the formation of "The Natterjacks" with influences from Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard, The Avett Brothers, Bombay Bicycle Club and many more.
Following our debut album, "Highlands" and our following EP, "In The Bark", which led to slots on some top festivals including a set for BBC Introducing at Derbyshire's Y Not Festival, then came the release of our second album 'White Peak', with tracks from this album getting us our debut national radio play from Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2.
With two albums under our belt as a duo, 2019 sees the expansion of the band and a matured and polished sound to complement their progression. Our first EP as a trio, ‘there’s a way’, releasing on the 28th June 2019.
